Surrounding the region are some islands that showcase a different side of Britain which people don't know. These places are just waiting to be explored by travelers from all over the world. Well, listed here are Britain's beautiful islands starting from the wildlife-rich island of Lundy to the old English towns of the Isle of Wight.

Guernsey. Despite its small size having 24 square miles of land space, this small island is full of attractions to see. You have breathtaking sea cliffs in the south and stunning beaches in the west. Plus, it also boasts of its historic sites and one good example is the 4,000-year-old Dehus Dolmen, a passage grave found in the northeastern part of Guernsey. According to the Guernsey Website, you can visit the island if you take a ferry ride either with Condor Ferries or Manche Iles Express coming from Pool or Portsmouth going to St. Peter Port.

Isle Of Wight. This place exudes so much English culture with classic cars being driven in its country lanes and beautiful seaside resorts located on the eastern side of the island. There various ways to get to the island and you can take ferry rides from Lymington to Yarmouth, Portsmouth to Fishbourne, and Portsmouth to Ryde via Wightlink. You can also take the Southsea to Ryde route via Hovertravel or the Southampton to West Cowes and Southampton to East Cowes routes via Red Funnel.

Lundy. This car-free and secluded island is every nature lover's dream. The Landmark Trust designated this area as a wildlife haven so it's home to hundreds of animal species, particularly migratory birds. Aside from that, you can also explore its marine ecosystem with its designated diving spots. Visitors can get here if they take the Bideford or Ilfracombe route going to Lundy via the MS Oldenburg.

Skye. According to The Telegraph, visitors can witness the great Black Cuillin in this island, one of Great Britain's most gorgeous mountain ranges. There are also lots of opportunities to witness wildlife species here which includes whales, sea eagles, seals and dolphins. Travelers can take the Mallaig to Armadale route via Caledonian MacBrayne.

Britain has so much to offer and there are more attractions to discover in those beautiful islands surrounding the mainland. This region is just filled with culture, rich wild-life and historical places that would make your trips memorable.
