Many who venture to Africa typically look to get the full-on safari experience. For those who opt to explore Botswana, chances are, your safari-seeking will bring you to the Okavango Delta.

Also known as the Okavango Grasslands, it is an alluvial fan that is home to many of the world's endangered animals.

It is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here's what you should know about this magical place.

When's the Best Time to Visit?

If you're planning to visit the Okavango Delta, make sure to time your trip during the dry season, which is typically from June to October. Unsurprisingly, this is also the delta's peak season, with peak months typically starting from July to October.

If you want to travel during the low season, schedule your trip somewhere from December to March. But do take note that these months tend to bring a colder temperature and a whole lot of heavy downpour.
