It has been more than a year since the finale of "Fargo" Season 2 aired, and for months, fans waited patiently for updates. Here's what we know so far about Season 3, including cast and release date.

If Season 2 took place in the Midwestern United States in 1979, Season 3 is set in St. Cloud and Eden Valley, and the year is 2010. Also, as expected, new casts will grace the show, and Ewan McGregor will star this season, Variety said.

McGregor stars as twins Emmit and Ray Stussy - Emmit a real estate mogul and is the parking lot king of Minnesota, while Ray is a parole officer who blames his brothers for his bad luck. The upcoming season also casts Carrie Coon, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and David Thewlis.

The teaser for "Fargo" Season 3 shows a suburban street with an inflatable Santa Claus towering over the roofs of trailers and split-level ranch homes, Esquire said. Things seemed pretty normal, but fans of the show would know that could possibly only last for so long. Santa can then be seen wobbling, and a shot can be heard. Air from the inflatable is leaking out, because someone shot Santa.

The anthology black comedy-crime drama series has a total of 36 Emmy nominations, so expect for this upcoming season to be no less than amazing. The official synopsis for the new season says that it centers on the twins Emmit and Ray and their sibling rivalry. This rivalry is going to follow a twisted path that starts with petty theft, but it soon leads to murder, mobsters and cut-throat competitive bridge.

"Fargo" Season 3 is set to air in the US from April 19, and on Channel 4 in the UK soon after. This means that UK fans see the new season beginning mid-to-late April.
