6 Ways to Get Paid to Travel the World

If budgeting isn't your forte and you think that, not only should you be able to travel for free, but people should be paying YOU to travel, then this article is for you. There's no shame in being entitled when it comes to the travel world. A lot of things are changing in 2021 but the digital nomad is here to stay. Here are six clever ways to get paid to travel the world.

1. Teach English Internationally

Schools all around the world are looking for English speakers with bachelor's degrees to share their knowledge of the language in a direct and conceptual way. In non-English speaking countries, learning how to speak English is considered to be a true asset. This is probably why you can find so many English teaching jobs all over Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East. See where the world can take you and remember to pack your ABCs!

2. Work Remotely and Save

If you're fortunate enough to find a work from home job that pays more than the bills, you can make traveling full-time a realistic goal. Before you know it, you'll be copywriting for professionals in a lounge chair in the Bahamas. Just be sure to set aside a portion of your paycheck each month for extra expenses and know the ins and outs of sustaining a nomadic lifestyle! Check to see what your budget calls for in airfare and score some BookingBuddy airfare deals.

3. Become a Travel Book Researcher

If you're lucky enough to find these opportunities, guidebook researchers get paid to write out their experiences while exploring different parts of the world. Seasoned writers are still expected to work around fourteen-hour days while on the job, so this one is not for the faint at heart. Remember to fuel up on the best travel coffee if you decide to take on one of these gigs. For those just starting out, you can make passive income writing about your travels as well. This is also a good way to build up your portfolio for any travel book publication offers that come your way in the future.

4. Utilize Instagram like a Boss

The twenty-something Instagram influencers are earning like crazy for good reason. Those with the largest follower counts get to promote travel companies and hotel packages from all around the world. Their loyal and obsessed fans are easy targets for travel, simply because they want to be so much like the influencers they've subscribed to. If your following is large enough, you might be able to make $9,000 for just one post like Jack Morris did. Smile and see if the camera loves you.

5. Become a Flight Attendant

Your cool grandma's gig today lands you between $46k to 100k a year. You might be in the air more than you'll be on land, but you'll still have time to explore many different places with free travel benefits, and all while rocking a pencil skirt too. When you do have those free moments to explore uncharted territory, be sure to make the most of your time and cherish your memories. Grandma did it, and you can too.

6. Get a Job on A Cruise Ship

Do you have any musical talent? Cruise ships are always looking for live music acts to entertain guests. You'll be able to stay for free with awesome accommodations like swimming pools, saunas, and gyms, and you'll have regular gigs to show off your talents. Maybe you're not musical but don't mind washing dishes? The restaurant staff on cruise ships is always looking for more help. The pay is not usually competitive, but you do get the accommodations and travel experiences of a lifetime. A traveling dishwasher. Now if that's not a millennial's job, I don't know what is.

There are plenty of creative ways to travel and make money doing it. From this list, consider the kind of work that feels most appealing to you. If you're just a traveler at heart, the work you do won't matter as much as the travel experiences you gain along the way.
