Apple has been making some noise lately with the launch of new products, such as the 9.7-inch iPad and an update to the Mac Pro. Now it seems the "Mac Mini 2017," which the company said is important, could feature a high-end variant that's possible to support 8K resolution.

According to a report from The Science Times, Apple's new is to have a device that 8K resolution, similar to the Dell UltraSharp. And the "Mac Mini 2017" is one of the devices that are going to incorporate that next to the Mac Pro.

The report said that "Mac Mini" is a candidate for the 8K feature, due to the device not receiving any upgrade since October 2014. And it's not like Apple is forgetting about it, considering that they recently said that the device is still part of their product lineup.

According to Droid Report,Phil Schiller, the SVP of Worldwide Marketing at Apple, recently provided an update about the Mac Pro and he also mentioned the Mac Mini. He said that device is still part of their products but didn't provide any other detail about it.

The report said this could mean Apple doesn't have any plans of removing the Mac Mini from its lineup and a likely update is looming. One of the things that fans can expect is for the "Mac Mini 2017" to be upgraded and will be slightly larger than its predecessor.

It will likely feature USB-C ports, faster processor, bigger memory, and better graphics. The high-end device could possibly support 8K resolution, especially since Apple is looking for a new partner for its display, after alleged hardware problems were experienced with the 5K display, according to The Science Times.

Though Apple has been tight-lipped about the "Mac Mini 2017," it's likely that the company is already working on its upgrade already. Check out the video below for the latest in Apple's products.
