It looks like Netflix is looking to capitalize on the success of the return of "Gilmore Girls" on the TV screens. "Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life" Season 2 is in the earliest stages of discussion, Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos said.

According to a report from TVLine, the talks are already underway with Warner Bros. and there are also discussions for more episodes. Sarandos said that they are in talks with Amy Sherman-Palladino, who created the series, and the executive producer Dan Palladino about the possibility of season 2.

Sarandos said the fans loved how the show was made and they "loved the success" it got. He adds that Amy and Dan were able to deliver what the fans want and they are asking for more.

The report said that Netflix added 7.05 million subscribers in the fourth quarter of 2016 and that is due, in large part, to "Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life." The TV series premiered in November.

Dana Getz of Screen Rant reported that there's demand from the viewers for the show to have a season 2. But Sarandos statement is not yet an indication that it's a go, but it does provide optimism, considering that fans had to wait nearly a decade for "Gilmore Girls" to return to the TV screens.

But TVLine reported that Amy has hinted "Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life" Season 2 is not yet certain to happen. She said that they are tired already with "Gilmore Girls," considering that she and Dan have been in a "Gilmore cocoon for a year and a half," so they want to step back for now.

Hopefully, the fans won't have to wait another decade before "Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life" Season 2 will happen. Check out the scene where Rory reveals to her mom that she's pregnant.
