The cast for the X-Men" TV series is growing with "Person of Interest" actress Amy Acker set to play the female lead role, Kate Stewart. Joining her in the cast are Emma Dumont, who will play Lorna Dane/Polaris, and Percy Hynes White who plays a sensitive kid Andy.

According to a report from The Hollywood Reporter, Acker 's character is a woman who is struggling with her separation from husband Reed, played by "True Blood" star Stephen Moyer. The character is also struggling to deal with their "increasingly challenging teenage children."

The TV series will be focusing on Acker and Moyer's character, who finds out that their teenage children are mutants. This forces them to join an underground network of mutants and fight for their survival as the government is running after them.

The report adds that though Kate is struggling to cope with a lot of things, this dark turn in her family makes her realize how strong she is. Acker is joined by Dumont who plays Polaris, a mutant who can manipulate magnetism, and White, who's character Andy is a sensitive kid who keeps to himself to avoid the "turmoil" he experiences at school and at home.

Emily Donn of Screen Rant reports that Polaris is the daughter of Magneto in the comics. She is usually one of the good guys but became the villain called Malice when she was possessed by an evil entity.

Donn adds that it's not yet sure if Andy's character will join Lauren Stewart (Natalie Alyn Lind) and be one of Reed and Kate's children. It's also possible that he could be connected to the main characters in another way.

The new cast will be joining Moyer, Lind, Blair Redford, who is the leader of the underground mutants, Jamie Chung, who plays Blink, and Sean Teale, who is playing the original mutant character Eclipse.
