It looks like the filming of the "Deadpool 2" movie is going to be delayed, as the new start of production is pegged at June 19, a month and a half more than the May 1 rumoured start date. The release is targeted at some time in 2018.

According to a report from Omega Underground, the Directors Guild of Canada has put the beginning of the movie's production schedule on June 19 and is supposed to end on September 18. And it's likely this will be the film's actual schedule as this is the first time it appeared on the website, which is a solid source of a movie's production schedule.

The reason for the delay could possibly have something to do with Drew Goddard coming in to help in writing the movie's script. But the delay is not that far off from the team's actual target to start shooting the movie.

Cooper Hood of Screen Rant reported that Goddard's involvement doesn't actually derail the production schedule that much. The new date will also give Goddard and the creative team more time in finalising the script for the movie and be ready by the time filming commences.

The production schedule of the entire movie is relatively short, considering that the team will only have roughly three months to finish everything. But Hood said that it's still a bit longer than the production schedule of the first "Deadpool" movie.

As for the movie's release date, Omega Underground said that producer Simon Kinberg is targeting a 2018 release for the movie. And Hood adds that March is the targeted month for the release, which gives the team six months of post-production work.

Hood said six months will be "more than enough" for the team to get the movie ready for release in the theatres. Check out the teaser for "Deadpool 2," shown in the after credits of the first movie.
