Drew Goddard, the showrunner for Marvel's "Daredevil" series on TV, is now onboard as a scriptwriter for "Deadpool 2," working alongside Ryan Reynolds himself. But even with a new scriptwriter, Reynolds clarified that the original writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are still part of the team.

The Collider was the first to report about Goddard's involvement in the film. They said that he and Reynolds are working closely together to finish the script and come up with a story that everyone will be excited to see.

The report adds that fans should not be nervous about Goddard taking over the scriptwriting duties for the movie as the writer is very talented. Goddard's resume includes writing the script for movies such as "Cloverfield," "The Martian," and directing and co-writing the script for "The Cabin in the Woods," with Joss Whedon.

Michael Kennedy of Screen Rant said that it's still unclear how far along Reese and Wernick were able to accomplish in writing the script. It's also unclear whether Reynolds and Goddard would continue their work or if they'd start from scratch.

Goddard though, with all of resumes and accomplishment is a good enough replacement to not only help finish the script but also help in coming up with a great story. But it seems that Rees and Wernick are still part of the team that's writing the script for the movie. Kennedy said that Reynolds provided an update about the situation on his Twitter account.

Reynolds said in the tweet that Reese and Wernick are "still very much writing the screenplay" of "Deadpool 2." He added that the two writers are "the heartbeat of the whole operation."

Whatever the real situation is, it looks like the team writing the script for "Deadpool 2" just grew to four instead of just two people. Check out the teaser for the sequel movie, which was shown in the after credits scene of "Deadpool."
