Russian Airline Bans 400 'Old, Fat And Ugly' Flight Attendants

400 female members of the cabin crew of Russia's Aeroflot have sent a written complaint to Vladimir Putin after they are dismissed from working on prestige flights from Russia to other foreign countries. The aggrieved flight attendants reveal that the reason behind the ban is because these women are already "old, fat and ugly."

In the formal complaint sent to Putin, a flight attendant named Yevgenia Magurina said that the airline company informed all the cabin crew that "only the young and thin" will be allowed to serve on international flights for Aeroflot. The complaint also revealed that the affected flight stewardesses will be reassigned to domestic Russian flights.

The group who filed the complaint even tagged themselves "STS ," a Russian abbreviation for "old, fat, ugly." These female stewardesses have served Aeroflot for many years now, Mail Online says. The aggrieved personnel also reveal that Aeroflot, which was considered to be one of the largest airlines in the world before, has weighed the cabin crews like a cow.

Magurina said that she was relieved from flying for international flights because of the size of her clothes. She said that according to the management of Aeroflot, the size must not be over than 46 (her size was 48).

However, a report by The Sun quotes the statement as saying: "These allegations are without foundation - Aeroflot does not discriminate based on age, sex, weight, appearance, religious or political convictions, or indeed any other grounds. Aeroflot does not place geographical restrictions on where its cabin staff may fly and it does not restrict flight time for members of staff based on age or any other physical attributes, such as appearance."

A spokesperson of the Russian airline added: "Several hundred Aeroflot flight attendants are over 40, and they work on international flights, including flights to North America, Europe, Japan, China." Aeroflot stays firm to its revelation that the alleged instruction for the medical commission to remove the cabin crews who are "old, fat, and ugly" is not true and has no basis at all.
