Ben Affleck seemed to be not keen in creating a standalone "Batman" movie. Affleck clarified that it was just an idea that he will be directing the superhero film.

Affleck explained that him directing the standalone superhero film is still not set and stoned. He said that there has been no script written. Ben Affleck explained that he will not do the film if it does not go in the way that he sees fit for the film.

The Verge reported that this came a shock to fans after Warner Bros' executive Kevin Tsujihara confirmed that Affleck will be directing a "Batman" standalone film. If this standalone movie will be created, Ben Affleck will reportedly call it "The Batman". Joe Manganiello's Deathstroke will also be one of the villains in the movie.

Affleck explained that they are not rushing in creating the standalone movie. He stressed that they are taking their time to create a great movie that will not disappoint fans.

Cinemablend reported that despite  Affleck's doubts the movie is still not off the table. It is rumored to have a heavy villain storyline. The site believes that the DC Universe needs someone like Ben Affleck on their backs.

Affleck is an Oscar winner screenwriter and director who is a great "Batman" actor. The site believes that having Affleck in the forefront of this film will somehow elevate the mediocre status of the DC Universe.

"The Dark Knight is a cornerstone of the DC lore. A proper Batman movie is exactly what this universe requires at this stage of the game," the site stressed.

Fans are hoping that Affleck will continue to be the legendary caped crusader. The standalone film is rumored to hit theaters on 2018.

So far, one can see  Affleck reprise his role as "Batman" in "Justice Leagues." Travelers Today reported that it will hit theaters November 17, 2017.
