A trip on Memorial Day weekend is stressful especially when you have to compete for space at the airport. A staycation is the next best option, but it doesn't mean that you have to spend the whole weekend at home. Why not try these activities?

Read a book. Dying to finish that Tom Clancy, Sidney Sheldon or JK Rowling? Now is the time to pick up that book and read it. Sip coffee or tea while doing so to avoid dozing off while you engross yourself in a make-believe adventure. Go to a park or a coffee shop to be in a different environment.

Pamper yourself. Make this your time to go to a spa or get a facial. Get a pedicure or a manicure. Avail of a 2-hour full-body massage. Rejuvenate your hair. Get a haircut. This weekend is your chance to make yourself feel beautiful. Do things to bring out the best version of you.

Walk around the neighborhood.  Didn't have the time to roam around your place these past days because of your uber extra busy lifestyle? This Memorial Day weekend, rediscover every nook and cranny of your place. You might find a new eating place or even a new love.

Watch a movie. Gather with your friends, family, or the love of your life and pop that Netflix movie. Be adventurous and watch a film genre that you've never liked. Laugh together with your friends. Munch some popcorn. Drink some wine. Or beer. Use this staycation to cherish relationships.

Join a Memorial Day festival. The end of Memorial Day is the start of sleep. Check out the local initiative for music festival or Memorial Day celebration. Keep it patriotic and join a festival show or veterans' parade.

Bonus idea: Do nothing. Come on. You have been very busy with work, school and life lately. Take this break to just be in your birthday suit and do nothing. Okay, maybe some sleep. No, a lot of sleep.
