An Ohio wedding day crash which took place Sunday at 4:49 p.m. in Antrim Township in Wyandot County cut short what was supposed to be a long and happy union. Just hours after a happy couple said their vows to each other, the groom was killed in a single-vehicle Ohio wedding day crash when the pick-up truck carrying the couple and their friends smashed into a utility pole.

The groom, identified as 27-year-old Andrew M. Bloomfield, died just hours after he said "I Do" to 37-year-old Ruth D. Driskill-Bloomfield, who was seriously injured in the Ohio wedding day crash, USA Today reports.

Apart from Bloomfield, a female friend of the couple's was also killed in northern Ohio's Wyandot County when the driver of the pick-up lost control of the vehicle during the Ohio wedding day crash, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The female friend, 26-year-old Elizabeth M. Shelton of Bucyrus, was pronounced dead at the scene by Wyandot County Coroner Joseph Sberna.

Bloomfield was taken to St. Rita's Hospital in Lima via medical helicopter after the Ohio wedding day crash. He died in the hospital moments later.

Meanwhile, Driskill, who was also of Galion, is in critical condition after being flown by medical helicopter to the same hospital in Ohio as her husband.

The driver of the 2014 Dodge Ram quad cab pickup was identified as Timothy N. Tebbe. He was flown to St. Vincent's Medical Center in Toledo and like Driskill, was listed in critical condition on Monday.

According to Wyandot County Sheriff Michael Hetzel, the preliminary investigation reportedly shows Tebbe traveling north on Township Highway 135, just north of Township Highway 72, when the Ohio wedding day crash unexpectedly happened and he lost control of the pickup.

The truck apparently traveled off the west side of the road and hit an embankment, which caused the pick-up to begin rolling and eventually hit a utility pole. It rolled several more times and came to a rest in a cornfield.

The State Highway Patrol said Shelton and Bloomfield were ejected from the vehicle as the Ohio wedding day crash took place, while Driskill and Tebbe required an extraction device to get out of the vehicle.

Wyandot East EMS, Fire and Rescue and Upper Sandusky Emergency Medical Service assisted at the scene of the Ohio wedding day crash, according to the Detroit Free Press.

Jessica Lehner, Bloomfield's friend corresponded with the Telegraph Forum after the Ohio wedding day crash and said that Bloomfield had been like a brother to her.

"Andy Bloomfield was my best friend, my brother. He was always there for me and I wouldn't ever let him down nor would he let me down. He meant the world to me. He was always there for me and my brother and my family," she said in an interview.

"He was just a great guy, always smiling. I'm gonna miss the silly and funny Andy. I was always his little brat of a sister, he told me. I love and miss him like crazy," added Lehner.

After the Ohio wedding day crash tragedy, a co-worker of Bloomfield's, Cathy Bishop, also recalled happy memories with the deceased groom. Bishop said she worked with Bloomfield together with her boyfriend, Darrell Burnette, at Infocision four years ago.

"That's how we met Andy and he became like a second son to us. He called us Ma and Pa, he was close to our daughter Jessica and son Derek. Everyone who knew him said he's a rare and great friend to have," Bishop said.

Bishop added that Bloomfield worked at IB-Tech in Bucyrus recently. He was described a hard worker who always smiled and kept the air light by always telling jokes.

"He always helped us out when he could, and Ruthie, too," said Bishop. "He will be missed by us all and will always be in our prayers."

Meanwhile, Kenny Belcher, who works at IB-Tech and who knows all four of the people involved in the crash also lamented over the Ohio wedding day crash and over the fate of the couple.

"I didn't know Beth (Shelton) very well, but she was really nice and very well-liked by her co-workers," Belcher said.

According to the Daily Mail, a fundraising page has already been launched to help the bride pay for the funeral services of her husband.

The site states:

"October 12th was suppose to be the happiest day of their lives but ended in tragedy. Only a few short hours after the two took their vows they were in a terrible car accident that took Andy's life and left Ruth in ICU.

We are asking everyone and anyone to find it in their hearts to help out. No donation is too small and would greatly be appreciated."

The Ohio wedding day crash is currently still under investigation by the Wyandot County Sheriff's Office.
