The "Ghost in the Shell" live-action film was an adaptation of the anime version which also has the same name, and the main character of the adaptation was The Major played by the famous American actress, Scarlett Johansson. The film will be premiering in the U.S on the 31st of March 2017.

As per Anime News Network they reported that on the 1st day of March, Paramount Pictures released a new teaser trailer for the "Ghost in the Shell" film via streaming. It has shown The Major awakening in a new body, and struggling to breathe. A woman in red was talking to The Major explaining everything that has happened to her why she needed a new body. The Major feels very disappointed about the truth and plans to take revenge on the people who stole his life.

On the other hand, the report also stated that Dreamworks and Paramount are also co-financing and co-producing the live-action film. Paramount Pictures is now in charge of the film's distribution after Dreamworks has completed its distribution deals with Walt Disney Pictures. The film will be open in Japan on the 7th of April 2017. The film is being directed by Rupert Sanders based on a screenplay written by Jonathan Herman and Jamie Moss.

According to Comicbook, the other casts of the film are Pilou Asbæk as Batou, Michael Pitt as the Laughing Man. Beat Takeshi as the Public Security Section 9 founder and Chief Daisuke Aramaki. French actress Juliette Binoche as Dr. Ouelet, and Kaori Momoi and Rila Fukushima will also have roles in the film. Lasarus Ratuere as Ishikawa, Tawanda Manyimo as Borma, Yutaka Izumihara as Saito, Danusia Samal as Ladriya, and Chin Han as Togusa.
