Fans of the "Fullmetal Alchemist" manga and anime series will be delighted to know that the live-action movie has already gotten a release date, and it's set for December 1, 2017. An image of what Alphonse Elric will look like, which is created by CG, was also revealed.

According to a report from Crunchyroll, the CG image for Alphonse was created using a new visual technology that was created specifically for the film. "Fullmetal Alchemist" will be the first Japanese made film that will be using this technology.

Though the image of Alphonse was revealed, the actor who will voice the role still wasn't. The report said that Rie Kugimiya voiced the character in the anime series, but there was no mention if Kugimiya will do the same for the live-action movie.

The report adds that the movie will premiere on December 1, and the major movie theaters in Japan are having a "First Day" discount on the 1st month. The tickets for the movie will cost 1,100 yen, which is cheaper than the original 1,800 yen movie price.

The reason for this is that they want the film to be delivered to "as many fans of the manga series and movies as possible." Anime News Network reports that Fumihiko Sori is directing the film.

Sori mentioned that he wanted the style of the film, as much as possible, to follow closely the original manga series. He said that "the cast is entirely Japanese, but the cultural background is Europe."

The director also adds that the style won't be representing any "specific race or country." The movie also won't have a scene where the Japanese identity of the characters will be revealed.

Ryosuke Yamada is the lead actor of the film, playing the main protagonist Edward Elric. He will be joined by Tsubasa Honda and Dean Fujioka, who will play Winry Rockbell and Roy Mustang, respectively. Check out the trailer for "Fullmetal Alchemist" in the video below.
