Jason Momoa is perfect for the "Aquaman" role, and he proves that on a new training photo. The "Game of Thrones" star posed with his character's trident, teasing fans about his upcoming movie.

When Warner Bros. confirmed that the hunky actor is Aquaman in the DC Extended Universe, a lot of people were not able to contain their excitement. Momoa has been very vocal about his excitement as well, ComicBook said. The actor is currently prepping to film Aquaman's standalone venture.

The photo shows Pat Tray of Trident MMA holding a version of Aquaman's famed trident as the stunt coordinator helped Momoa train with the weapon. The trident is Aquaman's most important asset, and is even considered as one of Atlantis' relics, as per DC Universe. The Trident of Neptune has magic, allowing its wielder to gain the power to rule the sea. It can be used as a weapon, while also giving Aquaman a command over the sea itself.

According to ET Canada, a new video shot at 87Eleven Action Design shows Momoa showing off a fight choreography for his movie, and he can be seen taking two men with wooden sticks, shirtless. In the video, the 37-year-old Hawaii native is holding up a shirt to cover his bare chest while two stunt coordinators stand beside him. The stunt company is the same company who did "John Wick 2", "Expendables 3", "The Hunger Games" and "Jurassic World," which is a reassurance that the action scenes of the movie is going to be amazing.

What's exciting about "Aquaman" is that it shows a darker side to the King of Atlantis. The actor is no stranger to fight scenes, having played Khal Drogo in "Game of Thrones." He also nabbed the starring role in Discovery's first scripted series "Frontier", where his honed axe-throwing skills have come in handy.
