The previous episode of "This Is Us" showed Rebecca's old bandmate, Ben, reappear. His connection with Rebecca is more than just being normal bandmates though, as they used to date. Now, where does Jack fit into this picture?

According to Entertainment Weekly, Ben and Rebecca dated when she was just 19 years old. This was also the same time in the 90s when Jack and Rebecca's relationship was tested. Jack is clearly threatened by Ben, and what's worse, Rebecca told Jack that she "have something" for herself without him getting in the way.

The "This Is Us" episode titled "Jack Pearson's Son" showed an argument between Jack and Rebecca unlike ever before, Glamour said. The fight was due to Rebecca's desire to go on tour with her band. Jack did support the idea, but he suspected that Ben had feelings for her - which was right of course, because they used to date, but the thing is, Rebecca did not disclose this part of her life with Jack.

When Ben let this information slip, Jack felt betrayed. Rebecca said that she did not tell Jack because Ben was just a two-month blip during her teenage years. She said that it was nothing, and that she felt that Jack would ask her to stop singing if he found out.

Turns out, Rebecca was right - Jack did stop her, and did not want her to tour with the band. But of course, Rebecca felt that this is unfair considering that her personal aspirations took a back seat for years, and now, she feels that she should put herself first.

A lot of people say that this fight is very real, and no one can really tell who's wrong or right. Some speculations say that Rebecca's quest for fame may have been the reason of Jack's death. Did Jack's drinking cause his death? Only one way to find out. "This Is Us" airs Tuesdays at 9/8c on NBC.
