"Pacific Rim 2" is set to be released in 2018 yet and filming is on-going. Although it took a little while to get going than what most fans would have liked, what matters is "Pacific Rim: Uprising" is confirmed. The sequel has new casts, including "Suicide Squad'" star Scott Eastwood, and a picture of him in Jaeger suit has just been teased.

According to ComicBook, Eastwood is reportedly playing a Jaeger pilot named Nate Lamber. He joins Jake Pentecost (John Boyega) to battle a new wave of Kaiju monsters.

Screen Rant reported that an Instagram user was able to uncover Eastwood's photo with the Jaeger suit on the "Pacific Rim: Uprising" set, which confirmed that the actor will have the chance to pilot one of the giant robots. Another photo also shows Boyega wearing the newly designed pilot suits.

The photo shows Eastwood's character in a not very condition. There's blood on his face, bicep and side, but it is not yet clear if they were his own blood, or blood of the enemies. What's apparent is that his character has had a rough encounter recently.

"Pacific Rim 2" will be leaning heavily on new cast including Cailee Spaeny and Karl Urban, but there will also be returnees like Rinko Kikuchi, Charlie Day and Burn Gorman. Also, Guillermo Del Toro won't direct the sequel, and the directorial job is passed on to Steven S. DeKnight.

"Pacific Rim: Uprising" has not released an official synopsis yet, but reports say it would tell be about the problem when humans think that they have closed the Breach. Turns out that they just closed the breach but didn't actually deal with all of the Kaiju - and they will eventually find their way back to Earth. The movie is set to be released on February 23, 2018.
