Slender Man is on the forefront of 2017 today. The internet ghostly figure will not only have an HBO documentary titled "Beware of the Slenderman," it will also have a feature film.

"Beware of the Slender Man" will focus on how two 12-year old girls committed a violent act to appease the internet legend. It will premiere on HBO on January 23, i09 reported.

HBO will look at the Slender Man Stabbing Trial, where to girls stabbed their friend and left their friend to die in the woods to please internet monster. It became a media frenzy back in 2014 when the judge ruled the two girls mentally fit when they stabbed their friend Peyton Leutner.

Travelers Today reported that the two girls' attorney claimed that the two girls suffered from psychiatric disorder and schizophrenia. This claim happened after the girls' psychologist testified that the two has been seeing unicorns, Slender Man and Lord Valdemort.

Peyton Leutner survived the stabbing incident, living a normal life. According to other reports, Leutner is doing very well in school and enjoying her studies. Even though, her wounds were all healed it will still take time for her to heal emotionally.

Collider reported that "Beware of the Slender Man" will cover the different sides of the case. HBO will feature courtroom documentaries and interrogation footages of the two suspects. It features experts to help improve the two girls' mental states. The documentary will also dig deeper into the Slender Man Myth.

As for the movie, Screen Gems will be creating a thriller about the renowned internet monster that is fond of terrorizing children. The site reported that "The Stomp The Yard" director Sylvain White will direct the film.

The movie will start production in the spring of this year. The site reported that the movie is set to be a multi-platform franchise.

The site reported that the script follows a "tall, thin horrifying figure with unnaturally long arms and a featureless face, who is reputed to be responsible for the haunting and disappearance of countless children and teens." There has been no reports on when the Slender Man movie will hit the screen.
