'Kimi No Na Wa' or popularly known as 'Your Name' was a huge film that encompasses not just the life of a teenager but also relays the culture of Japan as such the places that were used in the film was actually existing in real life. The film was recognized not only in Japan but also in other parts of the globe.

Travelers Today recently reported an article about the interview with Makoto Shinkai, the creator of the hit film. Shinkai revealed that he wanted to create a film that would feature the costumes and traditions of Japan and be able to share it with the whole world.

Furthermore, Shinkai used real-life locations because he wanted to do a film that is evident in his real life for example; places he lives places he works, and places he goes to in his daily life. Shrine Steps at Yotsuya, Tokyo- This is the place where the two main characters meet and pass each other. The step is actually the way to the Suga Shrine and is located near Yotsuyasanchome station. However, buildings and other visualized structures were added in the film's background.

National Art Center at Roppongi, Tokyo- This is the place where Taki and Okudera had their lunch date most particularly in the café. The structure is a very large museum and tourists really enjoy different exhibitions.

Lake Suwa at Nagano Prefecture- This is the lake where 'Itomorimachi' was based. There are many beautiful spots surrounding Lake Suwa such as Suwa City Kohan Park where the magnificent Japan Alps could be seen.

Italian Restaurant in Shinjuku, Tokyo- Taki, the lead character used to work on a part -time job in a restaurant. In reality, the place is really full with customers and the dress code of the staff was really very identical to what was shown in the film.

Bus stop at Hida City, Gifu- In the film there was a very evident spot when Taki was sitting at a bus stop looking for Mitsuha. The structure of the wall is very similar to the real place including the hut, mailbox, and signboard.
