‘Pokemon Go’ News: Players Will Receive Double XP This Christmas!

Pokemon Go players have more reasons to be joyful this Holiday Season. Niantic Labs has announced that players will receive double XP this Christmas.

Few days ago, Pokemon Go updates were released to add festive mood to the game. As if Pokemon Go creatures were not cute enough, cuddly iconic characters put on some Christmas embellishments.

In the start-up screen, you can see Clefairy, Snorlax and Squirtle put up Christmas decorations together. Picachu who is wearing santa hat is using his power to generate electricity for the fairy lights. If you want to see Santa Picachu, you can catch him between now and December 29 only.

However, it is not the festive add-ons that makes playing Pokemon Go exciting this holidays. With the idea of luring back the "trainers", Niantic Labs has announced that it will double the amount of XP a player receives after catching or evolving a character. The same points will be added for defeating creatures at the gym, according to a report from Mirror.

For new and returning players, here are some tips to make the most of the Pokemon Go Christmas treat:

Catch As Much As You Can

This is your starting point, off course. But there is a bigger reason for this. Now, the game will allow you to transfer several Pokemon to the Professor at the same time. All you need is to press and hold the creature to highlight it, and then select other characters you want to transfer at once.

Tracking Equipment

Make use of the "Nearby" feature. It is located in the small window at the bottom right of the screen. It will reveal critters that are near Pokestops. Together with Silph Road's global atlas of Pokemon Go nests, it will surely help you catch elusive creatures.

Meanwhile, a report from Travelers Today few days ago has confirmed that Ditto is also available. Pokemon Go trainers may not be aware that they already caught Ditto because the creature disguises itself as other Pokemon. It only reveals itself once captured.
