Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello had collaborated on a song I Know What You Did Last Summer. Their musical work paved the way for them to become good friends.

In line with this, the "Mercy" singer is there to support the Fifth Harmony member even if she left the group to pursue a solo career. In a tweet, Shawn Mendes quoted Cabello's words and added, "beautifully said." He was referring to a portion of the message the Cuban singer posted on Twitter explaining about her exit.

Camila Cabello left the group that helped hone her singing talent since she was 15 to go solo. This decision was made after the success of her work with the Canadian singer as per M-Magazine.

Meanwhile, the remaining members of Fifth Harmony; Ally Brooke, Lauren Jauregui, Normani Kordei and Dinah Jane were "hurt" by the 19-year-old singer's statement. According to them, they made efforts to talk with Cabello about their group but she made no efforts to show up.

They also refuted her statement denying that she hinted her exit to them during their tour. They insisted that her manager informed them that she was leaving the group in November.

They also said that they wish Camila Cabello all the best but were saddened with the way things had ended. They ended by saying that they want the best for them all.

Fans of Cabello were sad about her decision. But there are those who believe she will conquer more heights as a solo performer.

Shawn Mendes received hate from social media for supporting his best gal pal. Much more, Camila Cabello was compared to Zayn Malik of One Direction and Gerri Halliwell of the Spice Girls for initiating the break up of their bands.
