During the latest episode of "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon", video game company Nintendo American branch president Reggie Fils-Aime was present in the show as special guest, with television host Jimmy Fallon. Also present in the show is the legendary video game creator, Shigeru Miyamoto, who is known for creating two of the most iconic video game series under the Nintendo brand, "Super Mario Bros." and "The Legend of Zelda".

The latest of episode of the Tonight Show featured the popular video game company's two latest games. The first video game that was featured was a game for smartphones which is the "Super Mario Run". According to Entertainment Weekly, "Super Mario Run" is the first Super Mario Bros. game that can be exclusively played via mobile phone. President Fils-Aime helped the television host walked through the game as they played it on the latter's iPhone.

The next game played was through Nintendo's latest video game console, the hybrid console Nintendo Switch, as stated by the Verge. This much-awaited console is the video company's seventh major home console, which takes the form of a tablet with two detachable controllers called "Joy-Cons". The Nintendo Switch can be played as a home console and also as a portable console; a feature that makes Nintendo Switch unique compared to other video game consoles. With the Nintendo Switch, Fallon and his guests played the upcoming action-adventure video game from the Legend of Zelda franchise, "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild", which is the series' 19th installment.

The episode even featured Miyamoto playing the theme song of Super Mario Bros. with the show's live band, The Roots. President Fils-Aime stated that Super Mario Run will be available on App Store worldwide on December 15 for 9.99 dollars. The Nintendo Switch will have its own special event next year on January 12 where more information about the console and its games will be available.
