Universal Pictures released a new trailer for "Fifty Shades Darker" on Wednesday, December 7. It came as a surprise for the "Fifty Shades" Trilogy readers that the movie trailer of the second installment showed less BDSM and more vanilla sex.

BDSM is defined as erotic practices which involves bondage and discipline, dominance and submission, and sadism and masochism. These are erotic preferences of some for pleasure. Meanwhile, the term vanilla sex was used repeatedly in the "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie, defined as plain sexual intercourse without the involvement of BDSM.

The "Fifty Shades" Trilogy is written by British author, E. L. James. It is composed of "Fifty Shades of Grey", "Fifty Shades Darker" and "Fifty Shades Freed". The first installment of the three was released in 2015, which was considered as Universal Pictures' most successful R-rated film of all time, surpassing $500 million sales worldwide. It is no surprise that the second installment can be as successful as the first, or even more.

In the second book, Fifty Shades Darker, readers expect to see steamier, hotter sex between Christian Grey (played by Jamie Dornan) and Anastasia Steele (played by Dakota Johnson). The second trailer did not fail the expectations of the audience, which showed vanilla sex on a bed, in a gym, in a shower and even inside an elevator crowded with people. Us Weekly shares more of the heated scenes in an article they published. The plot thickens with the appearance of Mrs. Robinson (played by Kim Basinger) and Leila Williams (played by Bella Heathcote), both of whom are Christian Grey's ex-lovers.

In the new Fifty Shades Darker teaser, a message flashed onscreen says, "This Valentine's Day, slip out of the ordinary". This is accompanied by the steamy shower sex between Christian and Anastasia while Miguel's amorous rendition of Beyonce's "Crazy In Love" plays in the background. E! News revealed that the much awaited Fifty Shades Darker will be released on February 14 - Valentine's Day. Readers and non-readers of the trilogy are expected to flock on the first showing day.
