Jamie Dornan is currently promoting "The Fall", although he understands clearly that several of his fans are far more interested in "Fifty Shades of Grey." That's why, when he made an appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" on Thursday, the actor explained how he can spot the difference between his fan bases.

"There's a sort of energy in the eyes of a Fifty Shades fan that the fans of The Fall just don't possess. It's like a hunger, and you can sort of see it and smell it," he said. "If it's in a pack, it's terrifying." He adds that the hunger comes in "every form you could imagine," Jimmy Kimmel wanted to satisfy the audience's appetite, so he decided to ask Dornan about "Fifty Shades Darker", which will hit theaters on February 10, 2017, and "Fifty Shades Freed", which will be in theaters on February 9, 2018.

According to E! News, Dornan joked that the sequels "are going to ruin the franchise," which began in February 2016. He was just kidding, but was he onto something? "Supposedly, I heard that Ian Somerhalder is replacing you in that," Kimmel told the actor. "Do you know anything about that? Is that true?"

"No," Dornan replied. "I don't know. That would be really hard for them to do, considering we shot both of the movies," the actor added. "That's an expensive mistake, I'll put it that way." Both "Fifty Shades Darker" and "Fifty Shades Freed" are the second and third parts of the trilogy based on E.L. James' worldwide bestsellers. While the Irish actor admitted he "didn't know" about any alleged switch, he wished the "Vampire Diaries" alum well.

"Good luck to him," Dornan said, adding, "He'll be great!" The late night host's conclusion: "I feel like that's a yes." Meanwhile, US Magazine said that Dornan wasn't originally hired to play the BDSM-loving businessman opposite to Dakota Johnson's Anastasia Steele. Initially, the role went to "Sons of Anarchy" star Charlie Hunnam, who popularly dropped out because of scheduling conflicts.
