Bagan is an ancient city in Myanmar that is home to over 2,000 Buddhist monuments in the Bagan Archaelogical Area. Many compare it to Cambodia's Angkor, with all the ancient structures and religious monuments. Because Myanmar has recently just welcomed tourists, this place is still unspoilt.

If you plan to go to this side of Myanmar, here are some of the best places to stay.

How to get there

Traveling there from the capital city of Yangon can be done by taking the bus, train, or plane. If you want a hassle-free travel from Yangon to Bagan, you will need to shell out around $130 to $150. Train travel could take 17 hours at $40 but it is not highly recommended because of its constant crashes. If you travel by bus, it would cost you around $15 with 10 hours traveling time.
