‘Star Wars Rebels’ Season 3 Episode 13 Spoilers: Why Sabine Had To Leave The Team

In a shocking and heartbreaking turn of events, a major character has decided to leave the Ghost crew. "Star Wars Rebels" Season 3 Episode 13 showed Sabine Wren leaving the group to stay with her family.

Sabine left her family in bad terms, so she clearly isn't keen on a family reunion after she pledged loyalty to the Empire. Just a few weeks though, Sabine was training for the big job of reaching out to her family via the Darksaber, in order to get their help for the rebellion.

Then, Sabine, Kanan, Ezra, and Fenn Rau headed to Kronos where Sabine's family is, A.V. Club said. The crew is led by her brother, Tristen, to Sabine's mother, Ursa. Ursa ordered her men to take Sabine to prison, but then Sabine wielded the Darksaber, and Ursa agreed to talk.

When Sabin left Clan Wren, her family was left in an awkward position, and Ursa deemed it right to stay with the Empire. They think that they are making the right decision by submitting, if only to preserve their lives and culture. Even if it's quiet shocking to a lot of fans, but Sabine's decision to stay is only right. It's going to be weird looking at the Ghost crew without Sabine, but it is what it is, and the crew will understand, Nerdist said.

Showrunner Dave Filoni said that it would be kind of weird if Sabine will just go in to meet her family and then leave, and that there's a sense of responsibility involved in that decision. This shows Sabine's maturity, and that she is willing to help her family, which makes Kanan proud of her in that moment, Filoni added.

Filoni also said that it is difficult to have this happen, but by doing so, it is also serving the greater Star Wars universe. But for "Star Wars Rebels," he teased that Sabine is going to do stuff and that it "creates a great moment for the character in an unexpected moment, obviously." We'll see where it goes from there," he concluded.
