Battlefield 1 publisher Electronic Arts is planning to bring one or two games to the Nintendo Switch. The Titanfall 2 publisher is looking to launch games on Nintendo's upcoming hybrid home/portable console from some of EA's bigger video game franchises.

Electronics Arts Chief Financial Officer Blake Jorgensen spoke at the UBS Global Technology Conference in San Francisco. At the conference, he said that the Sims 4 publisher had plans for the Nintendo Switch.

The plans don't involve a game that will be made exclusively for the Mario Kart publisher's forthcoming console. According to gaming websites GameSpot, IGN, and VideoGamer.com, EA will select games from some of its most successful franchises and will look to launch a port of those titles on the next-generation console from the manufacturer of the in-demand NES Classic Edition mini-console.

Jorgenson referred to the Nintendo Switch, telling his audience that EA is excited for Nintendo and that the Switch is an interesting device. Although seemingly impressed with the Pokemon publisher and its hybrid game console, Jorgensen sounded a word of caution, saying that he couldn't predict how popular the Nintendo Switch would be.

The EA CFO brought up the uncertainty if the Switch would appeal to a wider audience. He raised the concern whether people will still be interested in a new portable device in addition to their current frequently-used portable device. He wondered if people would want to buy a new portable gaming device if they already owned a portable device that they could play games with. EA hasn't supported a Nintendo console for some time. The Nintendo Wii U hasn't had an Electronic Arts video game in a couple of years and FIFA 15 seems to be the last title released by EA for the Nintendo 3DS.

The Mass Effect: Andromeda publisher had launched 65 titles for the Nintendo Wii. EA released four games for the Wii U namely Mass Effect 3, Need for Speed Most Wanted, Madded NFL 13, and FIFA 13. They stopped supporting the platform only a year after the console was launched in 2012.

EA is among the dozens of publishers that committed to support the Nintendo Switch. Some of the well-known game companies that signed-up with Nintendo were Bethesda, Activision, Take-Two, Ubisoft, Square-Enix, Warner Bros, and Capcom. The Nintendo Switch release date is scheduled for March 2017. The Nintendo Switch's price, specifications, and launch lineup will be announced in a video presentation in January 2017.
