HBO is coming to Amazon Prime and Amazon Instant Video. With Amazon just raising the Amazon Price to $99 a year, the popular website is upgrading its video service by adding some old and even new HBO shows to its collection under a new licensing deal.

Amazon is about to give Netflix some serious competition after making an exclusive licensing deal with HBO. The HBO shows will start to be added to the Prime service starting May 21, Time reports.

The deal is a big one as its the first time HBO has made an agreement with an online-only subscription-based streamer. This means that HBO is not just limited to cable or satellite. It can be accessed from anything that supports Amazon Prime's service like computers, tablets, phones, game consoles and more. Prime service, which recently increased from $79 to $99 per year, includes free two-day shipping on Amazon and Kindle library lending.

The shows that will be added to the service include all seasons of The Sopranos, The Wire, Deadwood, Rome and Six Feet Under, as well as Eastbound & Down, Enlightened and Flight of the Conchords, miniseries like Angels in America, Band of Brothers, John Adams, The Pacific and Parade's End, certain seasons of current shows like Boardwalk Empire, Treme and True Blood, original movies like Game Change, Too Big To Fail and You Don't Know Jack and documentaries and original comedy specials with comedians like Lewis Black, Ellen DeGeneres, Louis CK and Bill Maher. In the coming years, shows like Girls, The Newsroom and Veep will also be available.

The changes won't have any impact on cable subscribers and HBO Go users.
