A US Airways flight heading to Phoenix made an emergency landing after a baby stopped breathing. Luckily the child survived due to a passenger on board who happened to be a medic.

Flight 678 was heading from Tampa, Florida to Phoenix Sky Harbor when a baby stopped breathing and turned purple. Fortunately, two passengers on board have medical training and helped save the infant.

Some passengers spoke to FOX 10 about the events that took place.

"I saw a gentleman rushing towards the front, they needed help and we were told a baby was in distress," a woman on the flight told FOX

"He ran up, had the baby held in his hand upside down, he was purple," a man on flight 678 added.

"They immediately went to work and called for anybody who had medical training. There are people that assisted and we're told there would be an emergency landing and everything went smoothly. Everyone was invested and we heard the baby cry, it was just... it was a teary moment for everyone," said a passenger.

"It was a miracle on Flight 78, god put those folks on the plane and they needed them there to take care of the baby," said a woman on flight 678.

According to CNN, the baby had a seizure.  Two men performed CPR and the baby started to cry, showing that it was breathing. The emergency called for the flight to land in Houston. Flight 678 arrived in Phoenix an hour later than planned, which caused disruptions for many passengers who had connecting flights. Many passengers missed their connections but some didn't seem to mind, as the incident resulted in the baby being alive.
