Britney Spears may have shocked the world once upon a time when she kissed Madonna at the VMAs, now it seems like Miley Cyrus is following suit with the girl-on-girl action with Katy Perry, albeit a little less shockingly.

Looks like Katy Perry wants to remind us how she once sang about how she kissed a girl and she liked it, and she's doing it again with no other than Miley Cyrus. It's not really surprising that Miley decided to take advantage of Katy's inkling for girl smooching, what with her many antics as of late.

The 21-year-old former Disney star locked lips with the Dark Horse singer during her Bangerz concert in Los Angeles, Saturday night.

While Miley was performing her hit single Adore You, she suddenly bent down in the middle of the song and gave the Katy some loving through a smooch.

After Cyrus' spontaneous act, Cyrus declared, "I just kissed a girl and I really liked it a lot." The moment was captured in this fan's Instagram video while the blond singer made the perfect reference to Perry's first smash hit on 2008.

After her show, the blonde-haired beauty took to her Twitter account to add a snapshot of her and Katy kissing. She also added several lip emoji icons on the post.

Katy and Miley's lip lock may not exactly be as surprising as Britney and Madonna's, but planned or not, it was still shocking nonetheless.

Before the show, Perry clearly didn't know what's about to happen when she expressed her enthusiasm through Twitter. The 29-year-old tweeted, "I hope @MileyCyrus sings Breakout or The Climb tonight please bb!"

After the surprising smooch, John Mayer's beau also shared a photo of a candid moment following the kiss which featured Cyrus' mouth wide open while she covered her mouth with her hand. She captioned, "And after! I adore you @MileyCyrus," with a tongue emoji icon.

Other celebrities present during the show were Kendall Jenner, Khloé Kardashian, Hilary Duff, Sarah Paulson and Diane Keaton.
