About Singapore Airlines

Singapore Airlines has made significant advancements in aviation and continued its commitment to supporting creative talents globally.

On May 1, 1947, Malayan Airways Limited, which later became Singapore Airlines, launched its first flight from Singapore Kallang Airport to Kuala Lumpur, marking the beginning of its operations with three weekly flights that also included Ipoh and Penang.

Decades later, on Nov. 2, 2017, Singapore Airlines revealed new cabin products for its Airbus A380 fleet. This upgrade, which cost USD 850 million, includes 471 seats spread across four classes.

The layout features six luxurious suites and 78 business class seats on the upper deck, complemented by 44 premium economy and 343 economy seats on the main deck. The new designs debuted in December on a new A380, with plans to retrofit 14 existing aircraft.

Alongside its innovations in air travel, Singapore Airlines is dedicated to fostering creativity through scholarships and sponsorships in arts, education, and sports worldwide. This support underscores the airline's belief that creative pursuits are vital for a better future.
