One such saloon is known as the Buckhorn Saloon. Opened by Albert Friedrich in 1881, it is now home to two museums that travelers in Texas should definitely visit.

The Buckhorn Museum

The first of the two aforementioned museums is known as The Buckhorn Museum. Considered as one of the best-known attractions in San Antonio, it promises a full Texan experience.

This museum is home to an exotic animal collection that will fascinate anyone interested in animals. It is also where you can find the saloon mentioned earlier, as well as a cafe and private event space.

The Texas Ranger Museum

A result of the partnership between the Former Texas Rangers Association and the Buckhorn Museum, the Texas Ranger Museum houses historical artifacts that are important to the history of the Rangers. The exhibit likewise educates visits more about notable Rangers, including Ray Martinez and Joaquin Jackson.

The Buckhorn Saloon 

It is pretty much a sin to visit the two museums but forget all about the Buckhorn Saloon. According to its official website, "It is where Teddy Roosevelt recruited Rough Riders and Pancho Villa is rumored to have planned the Mexican Revolution." 

Many of the original furnishings are still present at the saloon, including the bar. The bar is where you should head if you're looking for locally brewed beers on draft. There is also a café in the premises for those looking for alternative dining option.
