Kathleen LeSage, the President and co-owner of New Life Hiking Spa, announces the launch of a new website dedicated to wellness for people age fifty and over. Wellness50Plus.com was created specifically to support people over the age of 50 seeking wellness advice, tips on wellness travel, spirituality, and guidance on navigating a "New Life" after fifty.  Wellness 50 Plus will offer direction and celebrate the changes that come with aging, retirement, and vast life transitions typical for individuals age fifty plus.

NewLife Hiking Spa, explained LeSage, was started in 1978 and was one of the first vacations in the wellness retreat space.  Boasting a 40% return guest ratio and having many guests who have been coming every summer for decades, the largest portion of New Life's guests are now over the age of 50.  "When the pandemic hit in 2020, the year of my own fiftieth birthday, I longed for a new venture since New Life Hiking Spa had to close due to Covid19.  After owning and growing New Life Hiking Spa with my husband (the founder) since 2003, and having a career in marketing to the over fifty demographic prior to New Life, Wellness50Plus.com was a motivating project and idea I decided to pursue," stated LeSage.

Before coming on board to New Life Hiking Spa in 2003, LeSage had a career in marketing with Marriott International and spent many years with their Senior Living Services brand.  Additionally, she was the founder and director of Ms. Golden America, a competitive event for women over 50 that landed a spot on Good Morning America.  In 2006, LeSage was featured in "After 60: Marketing to Baby Boomers Reaching Their Big Transition Years" for the topic, Boomer Women: Putting the "Care" in Health Care.  LeSage has been a health coach with Dr. Sears Wellness Institute since 2012. She won a Bronze Medal in the 2019 Illumination Book Awards for "God's Plan for Wellness", which was published by CrossLink Publishing in 2018.  Wellness 50 Plus is a culmination of all LeSage's prior experience combined with specifically curated articles relating to wellness, travel, and personal growth.

New Life Hiking Spa was founded in 1978 as a summer retreat in Stratton, Vermont.  New Life moved to Killington, Vermont in 1990 where the Appalachian Trail and Long Trail meet. It offered world-class hiking to guests seeking a wellness vacation in nature.  For over 40 years, New Life combined hiking with spa services, yoga, fitness classes, healthy food, and a comfortable hotel room while providing the most affordable and comprehensive program in the wellness retreat industry.  Furthermore, New Life Hiking Spa offered a limited number of winter wellness getaways in Tortola and Nicaragua.

New Life Hiking Spa has been a top-ranked wellness vacation by Health Magazine, AARP Magazine, and listed as the #1 destination spa vacation in Travel + Leisure Magazine in 2016.  Approximately 1,000 guests from around the world attended New Life Hiking Spa in Vermont each season.  Open from mid-May through early fall, New Life was open just 20 weeks a year when hiking was at the peak in Central Vermont.  New Life closed for the 2020 and 2021 seasons due to the pandemic.  The host hotel was sold during the shutdowns and New Life Hiking Spa will not be opening for the 2022 season.  Wellness 50 Plus is an avenue to refer guests to other wellness retreats and hiking spa vacations.  Planning is underway for week-long retreats in Vermont locations during the summer of 2023.

Wellness 50 Plus covers topics using research and interviews from experts in their field.  The content covered in Wellness 50 Plus is for wellness-conscious individuals who are interested in personal growth, increased wellness, and travel opportunities.
