Amusement parks began their scary or thrilling trend with the development of the roller coaster. As the world's technology for entertainment and amusement improves, so does the experience. This year, prominent amusement parks are set to release five new thrilling rides that feature animatronics and crazier roller coasters that would never, to be honest, get old.

In New Jersey is Casino Pier's Hydrus. According to Travel and Leisure, Hydrus is similar to a phoenix rising from the ashes of its wake. The Hydrus roller coaster ride in the pier amusement park has a 72-foot vertical drop enough to induce a millisecond zero gravity experience.

In OWA Theme Park in Alabama is another roller coaster named Rollin' Thunder. The steel roller coaster is not for the faint-hearted; it would begin the climb not from a sloped course but to a totally vertical hill inducing the feeling of a space shuttle taking off. The exciting, thrilling or scary thing is the 100-foot drop that sends riders into different odd loops that sends adrenaline everywhere.

According to Thrillist, Disney World's Pandora: The World of Avatar in its Animal Kingdom area would feature the world of Avatar made by James Cameron. While development has begun this year, the ride would open on December 2020. Reports believe Disney would use live animatronics to animate the Na'vi inhabitants of the strange, lively and blue-palette world.

In the Netherlands is Efteling's Symbolica: Palace of Fantasy, where riders in a carriage could tour the entire palace in three routes or a combination of routes. The palace is elaborately detailed and holds many surprises, which are amplified by digital projection and actors. The Alice in Wonderland-esque attraction would open this July.

In Pennsylvania's Hershey Park is the newest coolest Hershey Triple Tower. OpEened on April 8 this year, the towers would drop riders from the Hershey's Kisses Tower, Reese's Tower and Hershey's Tower from a height of 80, 131 or 189 feet, each with varying speeds. If the maximum of 45 miles do not scare riders, they could truly claim bragging rights.
