Victoria's Secret model Kendall Jenner is currently in the news after her Pepsi advert received criticisms and violent reactions from supporters of the Black Lives Matter movement.

Jenner did not expect a backlash following an advertisement where she skips out of a photo shoot to join a group of young campaigners waving placards with slogans such as 'Join the Conversation' before she hands a police officer a Pepsi can as a sign of peace.

The 21-year-old daughter of Kris Jenner and Caitlyn Jenner was "devastated" after the ad became controversial as per Daily Mail. Pepsi has shelved the ad after it was seen by movement supporters to trivialize the BLM movement.

Since Kendall Jenner is the face of the ad, she was affected despite the fact that she has no hand in the conceptualization and message of the advertisement. A source close to the model said that the controversy has damaged the reputation of the Kardashians' half sister.

People reported that Jenner is shying away from the media following the incident. When she landed in Paris last Wednesday, she covered her face with her hand evading the cameras. The accusations of appropriating civil rights and protest movements to sell a soda were too much that Pepsi cut short the ad.

Jenner also removed Pepsi-related tweets and post from her social media account. A source said that the reality star was mortified of the massive backlash.

Pepsi has already addressed the effects of the ad and offered an apology to Jenner who became a willing participant to the commercial. People close to Kendall Jenner are saying that the unfortunate event will not affect her career in a big way. But it cannot be denied that many blacks and supporters of the BLM movement will withdraw their support in the career of the model.
