Two days ago, Google announced that they have started rolling out the Android 7.1.2 Nougat for "Pixel" and "Pixel XL." More recently, though, the factory images and the OTA files for "Nexus" devices have been  available on their website.

Gizbot reported that the OTA files of all of these devices can be accessed on Google's website: "Nexus 5X," "Nexus 6P," "Nexus Player," "Pixel," "Pixel XL," and "Pixel C." Understandably, Google's own devices will get the update first, but the company made it clear it will be rolled out in the coming weeks.

The April security patch was also released, and it brings bug fixes. According to Express, the Android 7.1.2 Nougat addresses major issues like the early shutdown issue of the "Pixel" devices. The pink banding on the camera and the audio popping issues are also fixed. Expect better Bluetooth connectivity once you get the update, as well.

"Nexus" owners can enjoy performance and stability improvements. The Android 7.1.2 Nougat update includes fingerprints swipe on the "Nexus 5X" and "6P" plus battery usage alerts. This will let you know when an app uses too much power.

Before installing Android 7.1.2 Nougat, make sure that your files are backed up. Check if Auto Backup is turned on for important files. Don't get very excited in installing the update, too. You should be connected to a stable network, and your device should have at least 50 percent battery life. The update is pretty sizable, and the process itself could take a while. If your device turns off before the update is complete, it may cause issues.

Also, take note of your logins, because installing Android 7.1.2 Nougat may cause your device to ask for certain logins. Most importantly, checkout feedback by other users of the same device first before installing the update. The comments will help you decide whether or not it's better to stay on your current Android version.
