The highest-grossing animated film ever needs to have a sequel. Little and not-so-little girls all over the world probably have "Frozen" on repeat, and so when it was confirmed that there is going to be a "Frozen 2," millions got very excited.

The official announcement was made in March of 2015 during a Disney Shareholder meeting, and Jennifer Lee confirmed the news on her Twitter account. While it's not easy to make a movie, much more an animated movie, we won't expect to see the sequel until 2019, but here's what we know so far.

Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel will both return to star as Anna and Elsa respectively. Other returnees include Josh Gad as Olaf, and Lee will still be the director. Bell has previously expressed that Disney should not make a sequel until after 10 or 15 years after, just like what they did with "Beauty and the Beast," Metro reported.

The Telegraph said that the first movie took two years to create, and Disney has already mapped out their 2017 and 2018 schedules. Robert Iger, Disney's CEO said that they are not demanding speed. "We're demanding excellence," he added.

Bell agreed with this, saying that the whole team behind "Frozen 2" will not just put something out just because. She also said that it even took them a long time to announce because they wanted to figure out the kind of story that they needed to tell.

Now, what would the plot for "Frozen 2" be like? Film critic Robbie Collin said that one possibility is that Anna and Elsa will be separated by some villain or by an evil force. Collin added that Disney can't replicate the same conditions in the original movie and he added that the company is smarter and they will know that they still need to deliver a Frozen-like experience.
