Nintendo has released a new overview trailer for the "Mario Kart 8 Deluxe," which showed the game's new battle mode. The updated version that's coming to the Nintendo Switch will also be featuring 42 new characters, including two from "Splatoon," 48 different race tracks and a lot more features.

GameSpot has reported that the overview trailer has focused mostly on the game's new battle mode, which introduced a "multitude of options" for the Nintendo Switch. The battle mode of the original "Mario Kart 8," where more smashing and less racing is happening, was heavily criticized when it came out.

Some of the new options for "Mario Kart 8 Deluxe's" battle mode includes the Balloon Battle, which is a "Mario Kart" favorite, Coin Runners, Renegade Roundup, Shine Thief, and Bob-omb Blast. The report said that the battle mode options can be played on eight dedicated courses.

Other additions to the updated version of "Mario Kart 8," include 42 new characters for the players to choose from, according to a report from The Verge. The new characters include the inkling boy and girl from "Splatoon."

The new game will also have 48 new tracks to choose from as well as allowing the characters to hold two items simultaneously. New players to the Mario racing game also won't have problems in playing it as "Mario Kart 8 Deluxe" also has a driving assist feature.

The report also adds that the updated game will also be returning the boo ghost, a classic "Mario Kart" power-up that lets the characters turn invisible. Lastly, the Deluxe also allows players to pay in split-screen mode on the Switch, for up to four players, when it is hooked to the TV.

"Mario Kart 8 Deluxe" is set to be available for the Nintendo Switch on April 28. Check out the overview trailer for the new game in the video below.
