For so long, Samsung fans have anticipated the arrival of the "Galaxy S8" series, and that day is now closer than ever. Unlocked "Galaxy S8" and "S8+" got FCC certification.

According to Android Central, the FCC listings confirm the full support for US major carriers. This also hinted an earlier release of the unlocked version. The filings for the Samsung devices are for model numbers SM-G950 and SM-G955 - the same model numbers that are rumored for "Galaxy S8" and "Galaxy S8+" respectively.

Droid Life reported that the listing also showed the letter "U" which represents the unlocked version of the phones. The listing also showed that both phones will support wireless charging. It can be remembered that Samsung held off on releasing an unlocked version of the "Galaxy S7" months after the locked version came out. Is it possible that the company will release the locked and unlocked versions during the same time?

Reports say that Samsung will announce the arrival of the "Galaxy S8" series on March 29 at an NYC event. A teaser has been previously released by Samsung, and although it didn't specifically mention the device, many believe that it's the "Galaxy S8" series.

Both the "Galaxy S8" and "S8+" are reported to include an iris scanning functionality. Other rumored specifications include 5.1 and 5.5in 2160 x 3840 Curved 4K Super AMOLED display; 64GB internal, 256GB expandable; 12MP with a wide angle lens front camera, while the rear camera is 16MP, 4K video recording, and optical image stabilization.

The "Galaxy S8" series phones are also likely to be running on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. The rumored battery is 3,000mAh for the "Galaxy S8" and 3,500mAh for "S8+." There is going to be a headphone jack, reports say. The phones are also speculated to be priced the same as the "Galaxy S7" and "S7 Edge" when these phones first came out.
