HTC announced in January that shipping for the "U Ultra" smartphone is going to happen mid-march. It turns out that it's going to be earlier than we thought, and the company said that general shipping will begin Thursday.

The company started accepting pre-orders for "HTC U Ultra" shortly after the phone's announcement, TechRadar said. Shipments for the pre-orders have already begun. The official Twitter post says: "Happy to report that @HTCelevate U Ultra pre-orders are now shipping. General shipments begin this Thursday. Taking care of our fans first!"

The "U Ultra" is packed with amazing specs, so don't expect it to come in cheap. In the US, it costs $749, and it recently went on sale in India for $900. China customers who have not bought the phone yet, prepare $740 for it.

Android Authority said that this high-end phone is unlocked and is available in three colors - Sapphire Blue, Brilliant Black, and Ice White. For those people who prefer large phones, this is for you. The features and specs of the phone justify the price tag, which includes a 5.7-inch Quad HD display, as well as a 2-inch secondary screen above the main one, and it has a resolution of 160 x 1040 pixels. The dual-screen is the most talked about feature of this phone.

"HTC U Ultra" is powered by 2.15GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, and it has a 4GB of RAM. Internal storage is 64GB, and it can be expanded to up to 2000GB with a microSD card. The rear camera packs a 12-Ultrapixel and a 16-megapixel front shooter.

Additionally, the "HTC U Ultra" has a non-removable 3,000 mAh battery, as well as fingerprint scanner located below the display. It runs on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box and has HTC's Sense user interface on top.
