The live-action film "Shin Godzilla" is highlighting the legendary Japanese kaiju, Godzilla. The film has open in theaters in Tokyo on July 25 before premiering all around Japan on July 29, and the film is produced and distributed by Toho. "Shin Godzilla" is the 31st film in the "Godzilla" franchise.

As per Anime News Network, they reported that this year's Japanese Academy Awards has celebrated its 40th anniversary ceremony on March 3. The said award is pretty similar to the American Academy Awards, and the ceremony is solely to give out awards for every aspect of the Japanese film industry. The Nippon Academy-Sho Association is the ones in charge of giving out the awards, and the said association consist of a Japanese faction like the America's Academy of Motion Pictures and Sciences of Oscars fame.

The ceremony respectively gives all the nominees "Awards of Excellence," however, the actual awards for each category was bestowed in a ceremony on March 3 at the Grand Prince Hotel in Tokyo, Japan. Surprisingly, during the ceremony some winners are unexpected, but if there is one movie that stands out and get awarded that's "Shin Godzilla." The film has earned a total of seven different awards as well as the "Picture of the Year" award. Its directors Hideako Anno and Shinji Higuchi also won "Director of the Year."

According to Comicbook the seven outstanding awards earned by the film are as follows "Outstanding Achievement in Cinematography" which was made possible by Kousuke Yamada; "Outstanding Achievement in Lighting Direction" earned with lighting director Takayuki Kawabe's hard work, "Outstanding Achievement in Art Direction" earned by the film because of the duo Yuji Hayashida and Eri Sakushima, and "Outstanding Achievement in Sound Recording" was awarded to film through the genius works of Jun Nakamura and Haru Yamada.

The fifth award is "Outstanding Achievement in Film Editing" from the works of Hideaki Anno and Atsuki Sato. The sixth award given to the film is "Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role" from Hiroki Hasegawa. The seventh and last award is "Outstanding Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role" with Satomi Ishihara and Mikako Ichikawa.
