It has been confirmed that Vera Farmiga ("The Conjuring") will star in the "Godzilla" sequel. "Godzilla: King of Monsters" is the sequel to the 2014 by Legendary Pictures, and Farmiga will play the mother of child actor Millie Bobby Brown.

Oscar-nominated Farmiga reprised her role as Lorraine Warren in "Conjuring 2," and she is also set to star opposite Liam Neeson in Lionsgate's action thriller, "The Commuter." She can be seen currently at  A&E's "Bates Motel," in which she earned an Emmy nomination.

The Hollywood Reporter said that Brown's daddy in the movie will be Kyle Chandler. Plot details are kept under wraps for now, but Chandler is reportedly going to be the hero of the film, and he plays a scientist.

"Godzilla: King of Monsters" is follow-up to the 2014 reboot by Legendary and Warner Bros. which grossed $529.1 million worldwide. Anime News Network said that it is yet to be confirmed if Bryan Cranston, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Elizabeth Olsen are involved in the sequel. These stars were in the 2014 film.

The sequel, which is previously known as "Godzilla 2" will be directed by Michael Dougherty. The film is set to be released on June 4, 2018, and the "Godzilla vs. Kong" crossover film is slated for May 29, 2020.

In October of last year, it was revealed that Dougherty and Zach Shields would do the script. In December, Legendary confirmed that the official title for the sequel would be "Godzilla: King of the Monsters."

The sequel is said to involve "Project Monarch" which menas classic Godzilla foes may make appearane on this franchise. Fans expect to see Rodan, Mothra, and of course the three-headed dragon Ghidorah.

It is not confirmed yet as to how many human characters will be present in "Godzilla: King of Monsters." Many agree that it is exciting to know how Godzilla's character would evolve.
