If you're a king, certain luxuries are expected to cater to your needs. But people all over the world are still baffled by the amount of luxury that the King of Saudi Arabia brought with him on his recent trip to Indonesia -- a first in 47 years.

Salman bin Abdulaziz al-Saud, the Saudi Arabian king, touched down on Indonesia earlier this week in a gold plane, went down in a golden escalator, and brought with him 506 tons of luggage. Over a thousand members of his entourage went with him on his trip, along with other luxury add-on items.

Salman's Indonesian trip would last for 9 days-a part of his three-week Asian tour that will also include a visit to the Maldives, Japan, and China. Business deals and other agreements are in store for both countries, a chance to foster a better diplomatic relationship between Indonesia and Saudi Arabia.

Indonesian President Joko Widodo and Jakarta governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama welcomed King Salman's arrival. A really heavy rain welcomed the King's arrival as well, prompting seven of his bodyguards to protect their monarch with seven huge golf umbrellas.

Because of the historic visit of a royal monarch of one the world's richest countries, the Indonesian government spared no expense in getting ready for King Salman's arrival. Several reports have described the extremely elaborate preparations that were held to cater to the king's every need, as well as granting several luxury requests made by the king.

Among these include fitting a VIP toilet and an elevator at the Istiqlal Mosque, where the king would be visiting. For the monarch's safety, 100 bodyguards will be deployed, with other 10,000 Indonesian police officers on patrol to ensure nothing goes amiss in the king's visit.

The king and his entourage will stay at four of Jakarta's most luxurious hotels, and to take good care of the king's cargo, the airfreight company Jasa Angkasa Semesta (JAS) was responsible for the task-dedicating more than 500 people of their staff to the job.

Other more luxurious requests are in line in connection with the King's visit. So far, the king has no complaints.
