Fox's "X-Men" TV series will be adding Stephen Moyer, the star of HBO's original series "True Blood," to its cast. Moyer will be playing the lead role in the action-adventure pilot, an ambitious lawyer named Reed who, together with his wife, discovered that their children are mutants.

According to a report from Deadline, Reed and his wife, who has yet to have an actress that will play the role, will be the focus of the series, as they try to protect their children from the government's anti-mutant campaign. As they're trying to run away, they join an underground group of mutants.

This will not be Moyer's first time working with Fox, as the actor will be starring in Fox's upcoming drama series "Shots Fired." Ashley Victoria Robinson of Screen Rant said that Moyer is a good choice for the lead role, considering he already did that with "True Blood."

Moyer will be joining Blair Redford and Jamie Chung in the "X-Men" TV series. Robinson said that Chung will be playing Blink, while Redford will be playing the hard-headed mutant leader of the underground group.

Bryan Singer, who directed four of Fox's "X-Men" movies, will be the one to direct the pilot episode of the series. Aside from the focus being on Reed's family trying to hide from the government and fighting for survival, not much is known about this latest TV series.

Robinson said that Fox wants the show to tie in more closely to the "X-Men" comics that fans have come to know. As for Moyer's character, it's still unknown what other role Reed will be playing aside from being an attorney and a father to mutant children.

Robinson said it's possible that Reed could be the secret villain of the story and betray his family in the end, or the challenges could bring them closer together. Check out Moyer's final scene together with Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) in the video below.
