"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" didn't reveal much detail, footage, or images about Ego, the character that Kurt Russell will be playing, until now, where an image of Russell in character has finally been revealed. The image, though, only shows Ego in human form.

ComicBookMovie first shared the photo of Russell in costume and they said he looked pretty much like the toys that were seen in over the past week. The costume that Russell wore is also the same one that he wore during last summer's Comic-Con International.

The picture of Ego, who is the father of Chris Pratt's Star-Lord and potentially a villain in the movie, is said to have come from a Snapchat story. The image shows Ego in human form, but the character is also known as a living planet.

Adrienne Tyler of Screen Rant said that Ego is actually a planet that has its own emotional consciousness. The planet's structure can also be rearranged to resemble a humanoid form if he wants to speak.

This function also helps him blend in with other species or humans, but the atmospheric and geological cycle of Ego functions similarly to the biology of animals. With all of the functions and capabilities of Ego, it's not impossible to think he can be a father to Peter Quill.

Tyler said that the sequel movie will be diving more into the story of Quill's family and his past, that's why Ego will be part of "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2." It wasn't mentioned, though, what role Russell's Ego will be playing in the movie, aside from CBM saying he could be a potential villain.

With the movie nearing its premiere, Tyler said it's only a matter of time before Marvel starts coming up with trailers that would showcase Ego in the movie. "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2" is scheduled for a May 5, 2017 release. Check out the trailer for the movie in the video below.
