Kate McKinnon, who's one of the "Saturday Night Live" Ghostbusters, is joining the ride of "Magic School Bus" revival in Netflix. She will be voicing one of the beloved characters and animated teacher Ms. Frizzle. The streaming service was officially announced on Wednesday during its press event in New York City.

The upcoming reboot of "Magic School Bus" will be a modernized version and which will be called "The Magic School Bus Rides Again". Much like with the original series, the viewers will still see Ms. Frizzle who is going to take her class of elementary school students on a series of wild field trips. The original series was known to be based on the book which found a batch of inquisitive kids who get the chance of exploring everything from the inside of the human body to under the sea, Entertainment Weekly reported.

Further, Netflix has announced that the new show will be a CGI animated series which will be more focused on technologies such as robotics, cameras, and other latest innovations of today. This is also meant to encourage the interest of children when it comes to science, The Verge reported.

It has been known that this series was once a television show that ran on PBS in between 1994 and 1997 based on the book of Joanna Cole. Each of its episodes will embark the student's adventure together with their zany teacher which was originally voiced by Lily Tomlin. Moreover, according to the chief content officer of Netflix, Ted Sarandos, they had noted that it has been remarkably popular and that its reboot will begin streaming as well.

Hence, McKinnon seems like to be the perfect role for Ms. Frizzle. They already had given her the track record of zany characters that she's going to deliver on its revival. Further, Netflix hasn't announced yet on the release date of the series.
