The latest update for "Pokémon Sun and Moon" has just been released and now makes the Pokémon Bank available for the game. The Pokémon Bank is a Nintendo 3DS service that allows players to transfer Pokémon through multiple games, including previous generation Pokémon titles.

With the update, players are now able to transfer their Pokémon from "X", "Y", "Omega Ruby", and "Alpha Sapphire" to Sun and Moon using the Pokémon Bank app. The Poke Transporter app can also be used to transfer Pokémon from the virtual console versions of Pokémon "Red", "Blue", and "Yellow" to the Pokémon Bank, and transfer it from there to Sun and Moon.

According to the game's official website, users who purchase the Pokémon Bank from the 3DS Shop will be given a rare Z Crystal for Mew. The free Z Crystal giveaway will be available until October 2 and can only be obtained exclusively through the Pokémon Bank.

Gamespot has posted a graphic on their website showcasing how the Pokemon Bank app will communicate with the Sun and Moon game. Pokemon collected from previous "Pokemon" games for the 3DS can be moved over to "Sun and Moon". Players who use the Pokémon Bank in "Sun and Moon" will be given access to the National Pokedex which is an expanded version of the original Pokedex. This serves as a way to account for all of the Pokémon that were previously unavailable in the game's main campaign.

One additional feature that has been included in the Pokémon Bank update is Adventure Records. This lets players track important stats recorded across all of the games registered to the Pokémon Bank app. This also includes all of the Pokémon that have been caught as well as battles with wild Pokémon throughout their games. The Pokémon Bank app can be downloaded from the 3DS Store, but requires a subscription of $5 per year.
