The New York Knicks are having a very difficult season right now and the behind-the-scenes drama brewing with star forward Carmelo Anthony is not making things any easier for the struggling Knickerbockers. There have been rumors going around saying Anthony could be on his way out of New York as his name keeps popping up in trade talks.

In a report posted by Long Island newspaper Newsday, the All Star forward mentioned he would be willing to listen to what the Knicks have to offer if they were looking to trade him. "I have to consider it", Anthony told the newspaper. It should be noted that Anthony has a no-trade clause in his contract, and has expressed his desire to remain in New York. However, it has become pretty clear that the superstar forward is frustrated with the downward spiral that the franchise is in right now, and they have seemingly reached a crossroad with one another.

If this continues to be the case, then there is good reason to believe that Melo won't be wearing a Knicks jersey for long. Charley Rosan, a confidant of Knicks team president Phil Jackson, recently wrote an article stating that "Anthony has outlived his usefulness in New York." Before Rosan wrote the column, Anthony and Phil Jackson had a meeting last Tuesday to clear the air, but from the looks of things, it appears not everything was cleared up.

Chemistry issues are also troubling the Knicks as the additions of former MVP Derrick Rose and former Defensive Player of the Year Joakim Noah from the Chicago Bulls have not produced the results Knicks fans were hoping for. The same thing could be said about most of Jackson's moves during his tenure with New York, so it might be a wise decision for the Knicks to trade Anthony and hope to get enough pieces to start a rebuilding process.

In a report published by the New York Post, Carmelo Anthony's chances of winning a NBA title are pretty slim at the moment. He has often been criticized for his lack of effort on defense and his preference for isolation plays which often impedes ball movement. His massive contract has also been the subject of much criticism from both fans and analysts alike. Anthony is scheduled to receive $26.2 million in salary for next season, and $27.9 million for the 2018-2019 season.
