The new "Friday the 13th" game is expected to come out sometime in Spring, so developers Gun Media have been releasing trailers on a steadier basis. The latest trailer shows iconic movie serial killer Jason Voorhees as he appears in "Friday the 13th: Jason Lives" - the sixth instalment in the franchise. It also showcases Jason's morphing ability which allows him to catch up with his helpless victims quickly.

Based on the trailer posted below, the concept is pretty good as it gives Jason an edge when trying to chase his victims. In the game, the hockey mask-wearing horror icon does not have the ability to sprint and can only chase his targets by walking - which can be pretty tedious if they manage to get several paces away from you. This is why letting him have the morph ability makes it a little bit easier for Jason to catch up with them.

In the latest trailer, Jason can also be seen sporting a nice assortment of razor sharp weapons which he uses to slice through the flesh of his victims. He can be seen holding a spear in his hand, a machete on his hip, and a knife that he can use to throw at targets from long range. If you listen closely, you can even hear punk band "The Misfits" playing their song "Friday the 13th" in the cabin that Jason and one of his victims pass by during the chase.

According to Gun Media, the song has been officially added to the game's soundtrack, and fans can purchase the CD from The Misfits' official website. Based on the trailers released so far, it seems like Gun Media and Illfonic are trying to do everything that they can to make "Friday the 13th: The Game" live up to the hype.

As reported by PC Gamer, the multiplayer component of "Friday the 13th: The Game" will be released in Spring for PC, Xbox One, and the PS4. The single player component will be released sometime later this year.
